About Us

About Me

I was born in 1983 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and moved to Finland after high school. My coaching career began in 2003 when I started coaching a junior floorball team in my hometown. In 2012, I became a certified personal trainer (FAF Personal Trainer), and in 2023, I began physiotherapy studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

After becoming a personal trainer in 2012 through the Fitness Academy of Finland, I started working at Forever Hiekkaharju and later joined Fibaco, where I worked for 9 years. I founded my own business in 2017, renaming it Vacek Valmennus in 2022. That same year, I began my physiotherapy studies at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.

I live in Myllypuro with my wife and three children, along with our two cats. My own training focuses mainly on calisthenics-style bodyweight exercises.

Since movement is essential for older individuals as well, I started going to the gym towards the end of the last decade to maintain my mobility and quality of life. When my first trainer moved on to other work about four years ago, he recommended Matej to me. Since then, Matej has kept me moving during our regular sessions. We don’t just lift heavy weights, but the focus is largely on stretching, balance exercises, and strength training using my own body weight.
